Last night I attended my first ever Taste of Glendale, a benefit for Glendale Healthy Kids. It was amazing- I can’t believe I’ve been missing out! I discovered new restaurants (Sed Thai, I am so coming back to you! And Peking Garden- your handmade noodles rocked!), enjoyed live entertainment and saw all sorts of friends, both old and new. It was divine to stroll up and down Brand Blvd. and side streets, munching, poking, chatting and discovering. I was so full that I did not finish my plate from Portos, and, as you might guess, this is near blasphemy.
My favorite dish of the night, however, was not from a restaurant. A catering company- (Foodart Catering) made this ridiculous (in a good way) beet/red cabbage/kidney bean salad with a citrus dressing and blue cheese crumbles. Simply divine.
Unfortunately my camera was extremely unhappy, so the video is pretty short on details. If you’ve been lazy (like me) and not come out for this event before, you are missing out on good times, good food and a fantastic night out with your neighbors.
