La Cañada Flintridge is a wealthy suburb of Los Angeles located at the base of the Angeles Crest Mountains. The original La Cañada portion was a middle to upper middle class area that served as a gateway to the Angeles National Forest as well as mountain suburb of the Los Angeles basin. The original Flintridge community was an unincorporated wealthy enclave for monied Angelenos who craved a quiet mountain lifestyle. In 1976 the two communities combined forces and formed their own city.
Today La Cañada Flintridge is prized for its quiet, convenient location and for its outstanding schools, both private and public. Its mostly wealthy residents enjoy a low key lifestyle that revolves around family, community and enjoying the natural surroundings. Life here is organized around school activities, the Flintridge Riding Club, hiking and biking the Angeles Crest Forest, or various community events. However, if you want the fabulous city life, Pasadena and Downtown LA are only minutes away.
