As summer vacation slowly comes to an end, the competition heats up in Glendale for housing. Open house volume was medium light this week, but the buyer’s market is jam packed. There wasn’t much to write home about, but there were three worth viewing: A cute jewel box starter, a traditional which has been completely remodeled and updated, and one of those cool historic estates in La Canada Flintridge.
1156 Concord St, Glendale. 2bd/2ba/913 sq ft $455,000
If you are looking for an affordable opportunity to break into the Glendale market, this may be the one for you. Charming cottage with cute curb appeal, two decent sized bedrooms, hardwood and tile flooring, granite countertops, and a fireplace. Sliding doors off the kitchen lead to a backyard perfect for entertaining. The single garage has been redone into a work space but can be easily converted back if the new buyer chooses. For starter families with small children, location is ideal as it sits right across the street from Mark Keppel Elementary and Toll Middle School – How convenient! One of the better starter homes I have seen recently, so hurry, the consensus amongst the agents I spoke with is this property won’t last past the weekend.
1514 Thompson Ave, Glendale. 3bd / 3ba / 2150 sq ft $849,500
Traditional 3 bedroom home plus small office space in desirable NW Glendale, just south of Brand Park. Nice curb appeal and the current owners have completely redone the house. Spacious 2150 square feet with new plumbing, electrical meter, central air, and alarm system. Master suite has jacuzzi tub and separate shower. Sliding doors off rear living room lead to nice size backyard and covered seating area situated behind the garage. If location, space, and modern amenities are your thing, check this one out. Another hit among the agents and brokers in the know, this one will definitely not last long at this price.
